Gordon has significant experience in acting as the Hong Kong legal adviser of issuers on their initial public offerings on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange. Gordon also has extensive experience advising clients on all aspects of commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He advises on a broad range of contentious issues including claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and shareholder disputes.

Eric P H Chan

Eric is a litigator with solid experience in contentious matters involving allegations of serious wrongdoings and commercial frauds. With hands on experience in cases arising out of the context of commercial transactions and employment, such as those that involve allegations of breaches of trust, embezzlement, and misappropriation of trade secrets, Eric has worked with the Commercial Crime Bureau of the police and the ICAC as a defence lawyer and as the legal representative of the informant. In commercial fraud cases, Eric has on various occasions applied for Mareva injunction orders (asset freezing orders) and Norwich Pharmacal Orders (court orders to compel the disclosure of information and documents by innocent third parties).

Prior to joining Chin & Associates Solicitors, Eric had worked in the technology sector. Eric is now developing a robust legal practice with a special focus on dispute resolution, and he has acted for or advised the HKSAR Government, multinational shipping companies, semi-conductor firms, private equity and venture capitalist firms, technology startups, and also local, PRC, and foreign private clients.

Eric has prosecuted criminal cases on behalf of the Department of Justice as fiat prosecutor, conducted trial as defence counsel, and instructed Senior Counsel in complex matters. Acting as trial counsel for the defendant in a “wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm” case, Eric has secured an acquittal after he successfully persuaded the Court to rule inadmissible a cautioned statement where the defendant confessed as a result of inducement advanced by the police.

Besides work, Eric enjoys sailing and playing basketball.
